About Me - Kinder Casa Baking Classes

My name is Rona, and I’ve loved cooking and baking since I could hold a knife. I started baking as a child, sharing my creations with neighbors and later making cakes for friends, never professionally, just from the heart.

Over the years, my passion grew, and I found myself cooking and baking for friends almost daily. One day, a colleague mentioned she owned a coffee shop. My eyes lit up -“Are you serious?” I asked. She said yes and invited me to visit. The moment I walked in, I knew: this is what I wanted to do in life.

I later moved from Israel to Los Angeles, where I researched the market, learned the culture, and even took classes at UCLA. I had the opportunity to work closely with my instructor, a Belgian chef, which deepened my knowledge and confidence. When the time came, I was ready, and I opened my own restaurant.

I created the menu myself and baked fresh cakes and goods daily. I also introduced daily specials because I love being creative and wanted my customers to always have something new to enjoy.
After several years, I sold the restaurant and shifted my focus to finance. To stay creative, I also developed an app for restaurants. But life has a way of bringing you back to what you love most.
When my young family joined me in Los Angeles, I began teaching them how to cook and bake. I started with them at a very young age – around 4 years old – and today, at ages 6 and 9, they still love it just as much. I saw how calming it was for them – the joy of working with dough, the excitement of creating, and the fun they had. That’s when I knew I wanted to share this experience with other children.

At Kinder Casa, I offer small, hands-on baking classes for kids ages 7–10. I understand what children enjoy, so I focus on fun, creative recipes that they will be excited to make and eat!
Classes are limited to just 6 children at a time to keep the experience personal and engaging. If you are a student at Horace Mann School, I’m located just one block away, and classes are hosted in my home.

Class time: 4:30 PM – 7:00 PM
Optional pickup: May be available for an additional fee

Meet the Heart Behind The Kinder Casa

I created this space because I truly believe baking is one of the most powerful ways for children to learn, grow, and express themselves.

There’s nothing more rewarding than seeing a child’s face light up when they say,
“I made this!”

Every class is designed with care, patience, and a genuine love for helping kids feel confident and capable.

The Goal

The goal is to provide hands-on baking experiences that help children build confidence, responsibility, and creativity in a safe and welcoming space. By keeping classes small and focused, I ensure every child gets the attention they need to learn, grow, and truly enjoy the process. I am committed to making each session meaningful, engaging, and filled with a sense of achievement.

Why Kids and Parents Love It
